All westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway were closed on Wednesday after a tractor-trailer hit a beam of the Pepper Avenue overpass, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
The big rig was carrying a forklift when it hit the bridge around 9 a.m., said CHP Officer Brian Alvarez.
A few cars were damaged by falling debris, but no injuries were reported, according to Alvarez.
A SigAlert was issued at 9:14 a.m.
Traffic was rerouted off the freeway, which was backed up to Tippecanoe Avenue, about 5 1/2 miles east of the Pepper Avenue overpass.
The10 Freeway reopened by 1:30 p.m., according to a CHP Inland Division official.
